Helena breweries take top honors at the 2024 World Beer Cup

In the 2024 World Beer Cup, two Helena breweries achieved remarkable success. Lewis and Clark Brewing Co. and Copper Furrow Brewing each received awards at the esteemed event.

Lewis and Clark Brewing Co. captured a gold medal for their Miner’s Gold Hefeweizen in the American Wheat Beer category. The beer is a tribute to the miners in Montana who tirelessly searched for gold in the region. It is made from malted wheat and Montana-grown barley.

On the other hand, Copper Furrow Brewing secured a bronze medal in the International Dark Lager beer style category for their Tmavé Pivo. This dark Czech lager features flavors of bread crust, caramel, and a hint of coffee roast in the finish. Crafted with heritage Vienna and black malt, it goes through an intensive brewing process using Cz Saaz hops, Budvar yeast, and natural carbonation.

The World Beer Cup is known as the “Olympics of Beer,” acknowledging brewing excellence from around the world. This year’s winners were determined by a panel of 280 beer judges from 37 countries. A total of 9,300 entries from 2,060 breweries and 50 countries were evaluated. The award ceremony took place on April 24 at The Venetian in Las Vegas where winners in 110 beer-style categories were honored. The competition was created by the Brewers Association in 1996 to celebrate the art and science of brewing. For more details, visit the World Beer Cup website.[/
