Minnesota breweries dominate at World Beer Cup

In the 2024 World Beer Cup, six Minnesota brewers were awarded medals for their exceptional beers. The competition is considered one of the largest and most prestigious in the world by the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, with over 9,000 entries from 2,000 breweries competing in 110 categories.

Two Minnesota breweries received gold medals for their beers: Bent Paddle Brewing Co. from Duluth for their German-Style Altbier “Little Dussel Do-Ya” and Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub from Minneapolis for their German-Style Doppelbock or Fisbock “Dopplebock.” Excelsior Brewing Co. from Excelsior won a silver medal for their Fruit Beer “Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale,” while Lupulin Brewing from Big Lake won a silver medal for their Dortmunder/Export of German-Style Oktoberfest “Dortmunder.”

BeerClub Brewing from Mora received a bronze medal for their German-Style Doppelbock or Fisbock “Doppel (doppel) Bock (bock),” and Pryes Brewing Co. from Minneapolis won a bronze medal for their Mixed Culture Brett Beer “Idyll Forest – Soirée.”

Bob Galligan, director of government and industry relations for the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, expressed his pride in the state’s brewers for showcasing their world-class beer at this competition.
