Employees at Meta earn a median pay of $379,000 annually

Meta recently filed a report that the median salary for its employees in 2023 was over $379,000. This figure is higher than many other tech industry jobs and comparable to what competitors like Google and Amazon pay their workers. However, despite the high salaries at Meta, the company has recently laid off employees and implemented a new efficiency plan to increase productivity, leading to further job cuts.

According to data from a recent SEC filing, the median salary for employees at Meta was just over $379,000 in 2023. With approximately 67,000 employees, there is likely to be a wide range of salaries at the company. An analysis found that higher-level software engineers and researchers at Meta tend to earn more in base pay compared to other roles such as product designers and user experience professionals. While Meta’s median salary is well above the average tech industry position, it falls in line with the compensation offered by other tech giants like Google and Amazon.

Despite this high salary figure, CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s total compensation for 2023 was $24.4 million, with most of it coming from security and logistical costs. Despite concerns raised by investors about Meta’s plans to invest billions in AI technology, Meta recently reported strong earnings. However, these earnings were overshadowed by ongoing layoffs within the organization and concerns about its focus on efficiency and investment in AI technology amongst its workforce and investors alike.
