McLeod Loris Seacoast CEO Monica Vehige emphasized the importance of the partnership with Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) in preparing high-quality graduates for the healthcare industry. By investing in nursing and allied health programs at HGTC, McLeod Health is not only ensuring a skilled workforce but also contributing to the overall health and vitality of the community.

The HGTC Nursing & Health Sciences Institute has set ambitious goals, including introducing a world-class simulation learning environment, increasing nursing enrollment to 600 students by 2030, providing valuable clinical rotation and internship opportunities, and attracting top-tier healthcare faculty to HGTC. These initiatives will help enhance the education and training of future healthcare professionals and elevate the quality of healthcare in the region.

Leadership from McLeod Regional Medical Center and Workforce Development recently partnered with HGTC for a significant check presentation. McLeod Health pledged $375,000 to support the new Nursing & Health Sciences Institute at HGTC’s Grand Strand Campus. This commitment underscores McLeod Health’s dedication to cultivating a well-prepared healthcare workforce in the community. The collaboration between these organizations aims to benefit both groups and the community they serve.

A check presentation ceremony was held on April 15, where representatives from McLeod Loris Seacoast and McLeod Workforce Development presented a donation to leaders from Horry Georgetown Technical College. This partnership highlights shared commitments among these organizations towards developing a skilled healthcare workforce and improving overall health outcomes in their communities.
