Martavis Bryant’s comeback attempt comes to an end as Cowboys release him

The Dallas Cowboys have decided to part ways with receiver Martavis Bryant, effectively ending his latest attempt at a comeback in the NFL. Despite signing with the Cowboys’ practice squad last season, Bryant was unable to secure a spot on the active roster.

Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Bryant showed promise early on by catching eight touchdowns in 10 games during his rookie year. However, his career has been marred by suspensions due to substance-abuse violations throughout his career.

Bryant bounced back in 2015 with a career-high 765 receiving yards after his first suspension. However, he was then banned for the entire 2016 season before playing one more season with the Steelers. Another suspension followed late in the 2018 season while he was with the Oakland Raiders before their move to Las Vegas.

The Cowboys took a chance on Bryant almost five years after his last suspension, but it seems that time in Dallas has come to an end for him.
