Sol 1134: Small Beginning at “Pilgrim”

The team has come up with a comprehensive plan for the day, despite facing challenges with data volume and power constraints. Tomorrow, I will be serving as the GSTL, and we anticipate that there will be a science block allowing for further characterization of the target using Mastcam and ChemCam. We are currently investigating an alteration zone around a fracture, focusing on a “mini-start hole” to ensure safety before conducting a full drill hole. Our target for drilling, named “Pilgrim,” is situated in the center of a Mastcam image. We will use MAHLI to capture images of “Pilgrim” before and after drilling, along with placing APXS over the target for overnight analysis. Additionally, measurements from DAN, RAD, and REMS will be taken.
