Health Inspectors Shut Down Orange County Restaurants (April 11-18) – Orange County Register

Food establishments in Orange County are subject to periodic inspections by health inspectors. During a recent inspection, several restaurants and food vendors were ordered to close due to infestations of rodents and cockroaches.

Korea Health Food Soup & Tea in Garden Grove was closed on April 17 due to a rodent infestation. El Pollo Loco and Zait & Zaatar in Anaheim were also closed on April 17 due to a cockroach infestation. However, all three businesses were able to reopen on April 18 after the infestations were addressed.

Nutricion Poderosa in Anaheim was also closed on April 17 due to a cockroach infestation. Mayflower Express in Anaheim was closed on April 11 due to a cockroach infestation, but was able to reopen on April 12 after the issue was resolved.

Updates from last week’s list include food sales at Arco station in Garden Grove being allowed to resume on April 12 after a rodent infestation closure on April 8. TOGO’S in Anaheim, which was closed on April 9 due to plumbing issues, was allowed to reopen on April 15.

It is important for restaurant owners and food vendors to maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation practices in order to prevent these types of infestations from occurring. Regular inspections by health inspectors can help identify potential problems before they become major issues, allowing businesses to address them promptly and avoid costly closures or fines.
