Ernst Recognizes Small Business of the Week, …

In 2021, Ryan Gruhn and Lana Leander took over Hawkeye Molding, a plastic injection product manufacturing company based in Story County. Founded in 1979 by Bob Russell and Mike Lawrence, the business has been serving various industries such as agriculture and furniture manufacturing for over 45 years. Under the new leadership of Ryan and Lana, Hawkeye Molding is now headquartered in Roland and has received recognition for its economic contributions to the community.

Ranking Member Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) recently named Hawkeye Molding as her Small Business of the Week. As Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, Ernst aims to highlight a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties throughout this Congress. The senator commended Ryan and Lana’s commitment to keeping jobs in Iowa and plans to continue honoring small businesses across the state with her award.

Hawkeye Molding has been recognized for its economic contributions to Story County, including awards from the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Iowa Farm Bureau. The business serves a variety of industries, making it an important contributor to the local economy. Ryan and Lana’s acquisition of Hawkeye Molding in 2021 marks their third year in business ownership. As they celebrate their anniversary this year, they continue to lead the company with dedication and commitment to keeping jobs in Iowa. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed by Ranking Member Ernst, who plans to continue honoring small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
