LATAM Reveals Redesigned Dreamliner Economy Cabin

LATAM Group, a leading airline in South America, has recently introduced a new Economy cabin design for its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The airline invested US$15 million to enhance the onboard experience for passengers and position themselves at the forefront of the region in terms of onboard entertainment.

One of the key upgrades includes a new onboard entertainment system that allows Economy class passengers to connect their personal headphones via Bluetooth and enjoy a wide variety of content on 12-inch high-definition touchscreens. This includes over 170 movies, 550 TV show episodes, 100 music albums, and exclusive content from popular platforms like HBO Max, Paramount+, and Disney+.

Another enhancement is the introduction of a new interactive 3D map called Panasonic’s Arc™, providing passengers with detailed information about landmarks and streets from the air, allowing them to explore iconic places in different cities during their flight. The LATAM group plans to introduce this new cabin design on a total of four aircraft this year, totaling an investment of US$60 million.

The redesigned cabin also features seat upholstery made with 57% recycled leather, reducing carbon emissions by up to 60% and saving water and land use by up to 55%. This sustainable material production is another step towards eco-friendliness, as all narrow-body aircraft in the LATAM group fleet already include this eco-friendly material. Additionally, the cabin offers headrests, a 6-inch recline, and a renewed onboard entertainment system with 12-inch screens.

Economy passengers also have the option to travel even more comfortably in LATAM+ seats, which provide extra legroom, more recline, exclusive luggage space
