In 2029, Karlsruhe, Germany will be hosting the 13th edition of The World Games. This makes Karlsruhe the first city to organize The World Games twice. The city previously hosted the event in 1989 and has also hosted other major international sporting events.

Karlsruhe was nominated by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) to host the IWGA flagship event in the summer of 2029. Located in south-western Germany, near the French border and at the heart of Europe, this will mark 40 years since Karlsruhe organized The World Games in 1989.
