Jets Overhaul Sports Performance/Science Department with Multiple Changes

The Jets have made some changes to their sports performance and sports science staff for the upcoming 2024 season. While head coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas have been retained, the team has parted ways with several key members of their high performance and sports science staff. According to reports from ESPN’s Rich Cimini, director of high performance Brad DeWeese is no longer with the organization, as well as assistant director of high performance Robert Sausaman and director of sports science Matt Sams.

Despite these departures, the Jets are focused on minimizing injuries and improving player performance. To address the issue of injuries along the offensive line in recent seasons, the team has added veteran tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses to improve the line’s overall performance. Keeping these players healthy will be crucial for a successful season ahead.

While some key personnel have left the organization, the Jets are committed to ensuring that they have the support they need for a successful 2024 season. The team’s website now lists Alexander Carnall as the sports science coordinator, but there have been no new additions on the performance side of things. The Jets are working hard to make sure that they have all the resources they need to succeed in the coming season.
