Jacksonville Introduces New Mental Health Program

In a ceremony held at City Hall on Monday, the City of Jacksonville launched a mental health initiative to promote awareness and provide resources for those in need. Mayor Donna Deegan, City Council President Ron Salem, Chief Health Officer Dr. Sunil Joshi, and Executive Director of Health Programs Lynn Sherman all spoke at the event.

The announcement came during Mental Health Awareness Month, which is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of mental health and wellness in people’s lives.

The aim of this initiative is to highlight the significance of mental health in the community and provide support to those in need. By increasing awareness and promoting mental health wellness, the City of Jacksonville hopes to create a more supportive environment for individuals struggling with mental health issues.
