Israeli Army seizes control of Palestinian side of Rafah crossing in southern Gaza, near Egypt border

The Israeli Army has confirmed the seizure of the Palestinian part of the Rafah crossing, which connects the Gaza Strip with Egypt. This crossing serves as one of the main entry points for humanitarian aid to the enclave. In a statement published on its website, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they have initiated “targeted activity” in “limited areas” in eastern Rafah. The objective is to target “terrorist” infrastructures of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

The IDF mentioned that terrorists were using the crossing for their objectives, and this led to the seizure of the Rafah crossing.
