Reports claim Iraqi militia group launched rockets towards Tel Aviv

The Islamic Resistance Movement in Iraq has attacked the US Army in Iraq and Syria, as well as targets in Israel, multiple times since the war broke out between Israel and Hamas. According to a new report, a group of Iraqi militia allied with Iran carried out several attacks on Israel using cruise missiles, targeting the Israeli city of Tel Aviv for the first time.

Hamas, a terrorist organization supported by Iran’s allies such as the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah and the Yemeni Houthi rebels, is engaged in a fight against Israel. In early April, Iran intervened in the conflict after an Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus, firing hundreds of rockets, drones, and cruise missiles towards Israel. With support from Western allies and Arab states, Israel was able to intercept most of the missiles.

The US forces stationed in Iraq played a key role in intercepting some of these missiles. Additionally, Syrian state media reported a new Israeli air strike in the civil war-torn country that injured eight soldiers in a suburb of Damascus. The ongoing conflict between Iran’s allies and Israel continues to escalate with various groups engaging in attacks and retaliation. However, it is not yet clear what kind of response Israel will issue regarding this incident.
