British Council puts spotlight on creative economy in ASEAN – Community

Rama Aditia Adikara, a 43-year-old writer with visual impairment, has never allowed his disability to limit him. In fact, he believes that it has enabled him to become a “jungle of ideas and imagination”. Despite the challenges he faces, Rama continues to inspire others through his work as an author. He has written several novels that have gained him a loyal following within the visually impaired community in Indonesia. As an advocate for people with disabilities, Rama feels a responsibility to educate the public about their abilities and potential.

Meanwhile, Faisal “Aal” Rusdi is another inspiring artist who defies the limitations of cerebral palsy. Aal’s paintings of landscapes, flowers, and plants are nothing short of breathtaking. His use of colors and brush strokes creates stunning scenes on canvas that often depict sunsets or full moons. Although Karina Eka Dewi Salim may not be an art expert, she can appreciate the artistry in Aal’s paintings. His work has a calming and soothing effect on viewers.

Both Rama and Aal are champions of inclusivity, using their art to break down barriers and showcase the talents of people with disabilities. Their work serves as a reminder that creativity knows no bounds and that everyone has the ability to make a meaningful impact on the world around them.
