Minnesota Sports Hall of Fame inducts Gigi Marvin, Neal Broten, Willie Burton, and Larry McKenzie

On April 6th, the Xcel Energy Center crowd erupted in cheers as the latest class of Star Tribune Minnesota Sports Hall of Famers, known as “the hoops and hockey class”, was honored during the Wild game. The hall of fame included two hockey legends, Gigi Marvin and Neal Broten, as well as two basketball icons, Larry McKenzie and Willie Burton.

Despite their absence due to other commitments, Class of 2023 inductees Cheryl Reeve and Phil Housley were recognized for their achievements. Reeve was at the women’s Final Four while Housley served as an assistant coach with the New York Rangers. Jade Hill accepted the Hall of Fame trophy on behalf of her sister Tayler, a record-setting basketball player from Minneapolis South, and Gaabi Boucha, grandson of Warroad legend Henry Boucha.
