Study of the Castejn-Logroo AVE section Approved for Immediate Tender

On Tuesday, Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility Scar Bridge announced the approval of a study on the high-speed railway section from Castejón (Navarra) to Logroo. This will lead to an immediate tender for the projects in this section. Bridge also emphasized during a Senate Plenary session that the government is committed to connecting La Rioja via high-speed rail. All sections between Zaragoza and Miranda de Ebro are either in execution, study, or project stage. Specific studies and projects are underway to reduce travel times to La Rioja and improve the corridor between Logroo and Miranda de Ebro.

In addition to this, the construction of the Rincón de Soto bypass continues, which began in March with a budget of 65 million euros. The Minister addressed the controversy that arose in April regarding a new direct railway connection between Logroo and Madrid. Despite increasing direct train seats between the two cities by 3,200, this new service was deemed disappointing by Rioja president Gonzalo Capellán. However, Bridge has announced plans to meet with the regional president of La Rioja on May 31 to discuss these matters further.

Other topics discussed during the Senate Plenary session included gaming licenses, online gambling, cryptocurrency licenses, and related issues. Nonetheless, the main focus remained on developing high-speed railway and transport infrastructure in the region.
