Heavy rain causes postponement of HHSAA baseball semifinals

Due to heavy rain, the HHSAA Division I and II baseball semifinals scheduled for Thursday at Les Murakami Stadium in Honolulu have been postponed. An HHSAA spokesperson confirmed that the first game of the day between Kamehameha-Hawaii and Kauai was suspended. The game will attempt to resume at 10 a.m. on Friday at LMS, followed by the second D-II semifinal between Damien and Waianae.

The televised Division I semifinals scheduled for 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday between Saint Louis-Maui High and Baldwin-Kamehameha have also been postponed to Friday at the same times, weather permitting. The HHSAA is optimistic that the weather will improve on Friday based on forecasts.

Earlier on Thursday, the HHSAA also postponed its Division I and II softball semifinals at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium to Friday. Brian McInnis reports on the state’s sports scene for Spectrum News Hawaii and can be contacted at brian.mcinnis@charter
