‘UK HealthCare to Host ‘Be Healthy Bash’ Event in Lexington’

The University of Kentucky HealthCare is hosting the ‘Be Healthy Bash’ in Lexington on June 8th at the Fayette County Extension Office. This event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will focus on nutrition, fitness, and emotional wellness to promote overall well-being in the community.

The Be Healthy Bash offers a variety of activities for attendees, including health screenings, access to health and wellness resources, free food, cooking demonstrations, taste testing, emotional wellness activities, physical activities and games, inflatables for both kids and adults, a petting zoo, safety education at Safety City, a smoothie bike, a meet and greet with UK’s Wally Cat, live music, and other activities.

The event was originally envisioned by the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center to provide the community with access to healthy foods and promote the benefits of eating well and being active. However, it has since expanded to include various health and wellness services beyond the original vision. Nowadays, the Be Healthy Bash aims to help individuals achieve a healthy lifestyle regardless of their background.
