The Healthy Kids Day® took place on May 4, 2024 from 10am to 2pm at the Statesboro Family YMCA in Statesboro. This annual event is open to the public and aims to promote health and fun for kids and families as they get ready for summer.
The day was packed with a variety of activities to engage both children and adults. These included family field day activities, group fitness demonstrations, vendor booths, water activities, bounce houses and more. In addition, free fruit was distributed during the event.
Hannah Beggs, Executive Branch Director at the Statesboro Family YMCA emphasized that the day was all about kids having fun and enjoying themselves in a safe and healthy environment. She added that the event aimed to encourage physical activity and healthy eating habits among children while providing a free and secure space for them to play within the community.
