Hampden Charter School of Science East girls continue their undefeated streak and more

The Hampden Charter School of Science East boys’ tennis team faced off against Frontier on Tuesday, earning an impressive five-set win despite losing two of the final three matches. Iyanla Lewis and Tiffany Munga secured victories in the singles matchups, putting their team in the lead early on. Thanushi Ratnatuge of Frontier kept the Red Hawks in the game with a win in the final singles matchup.

In the doubles matches, Esther Ehle and Kayla Fagan secured a win for Hampden Charter School of Science East, but it was the first doubles team of Jasmine Ortega and Saryah Brantley that sealed the victory for the home team. This win marked only the fourth combined set loss for Hampden Charter School of Science East this season, as they maintain an undefeated record at 5-0.

On the other hand, Frontier moved to 3-7 after their loss to Hampden Charter School of Science East. They will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming match against Greenfield. The girls’ team will take their momentum on the road to face Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School on Wednesday.

In the boys’ tennis circuit, it was a close call between Hampden Charter School of Science East and Frontier, with both teams battling it out for supremacy. The scores were tight in every match, but ultimately it was Hampden Charter School of Science East that emerged victorious with a hard-fought five-set win over Frontier on Tuesday night.
