World’s Best Airports Dethroned Singapore’s Changi

Doha’s Hamad International Airport has been named the “world’s best airport” for the third time in a row, according to the Skytrax World Airport Awards. This title was won by Hamad International after Singapore Changi had held it for 12 years. In 2024, Seoul Incheon secured the third spot and was also recognized as the most family-friendly airport of the year. Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports claimed fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

Hong Kong airport made a significant jump, moving up 22 places to 11th after recovering from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. European airports continued to perform well, with Paris Charles de Gaulle, Munich, Zurich, and Istanbul maintaining positions in the top 10. New York’s JFK fell to 93rd place while LaGuardia improved to 33rd. Melbourne remained the top-ranked Australian airport at 19th place while London Heathrow moved up one spot to 21st and Gatwick climbed seven places to 48th.

American airports did not make it near the top of the rankings, with Seattle-Tacoma being the highest-ranked at 24th but slipping six places. Badr Al Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer expressed pride in Hamad International Airport’s achievement of being named
