Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Gabby Douglas to participate in Core Hydration Classic

The upcoming Core Hydration Classic will feature three prominent gymnasts who have all won Olympic gold medals in the all-around category. This marks a first for these athletes, as they have never competed in the same gymnastics meet before. The event, which serves as a prelude to the Olympic Gymnastics Trials, will take place in Hartford, Connecticut on May 18 from 7-9 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on CNBC and Peacock. In addition to streaming the event on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app for CNBC subscribers, viewers can also watch it online.

The roster for the Classic includes several other noteworthy gymnasts such as Tokyo Olympic floor exercise gold medalist Jade Carey, Olympic team silver medalist Jordan Chiles, and two-time world all-around medalist Shilese Jones. Following this competition, the gymnasts will head to Fort Worth, Texas for the Xfinity U.S. Championships from May 30 to June 2 and then to Minneapolis for the Olympic Trials from June 27-30. The winner of the Olympic Trials all-around automatically earns a spot on the five-woman Olympic team for Paris Games.

Simone Biles is making her debut at this year’s competition after winning last year’s all-around title at the event.

Suni Lee has faced challenges due to being diagnosed with kidney diseases in early 2023 but is still competing in two events in 2024.

Gabby Douglas returned to competition at the American Classic in April after taking a break following her stint at the 2016 Rio Games.

All three gymnasts are looking forward to showcasing their skills and securing spots on the Paris Olympics team.

This meet promises to be an exciting one as these talented athletes compete against each other and attempt to solidify their positions on the US national team heading into Paris Games next year!
