Kristi Noem criticizes Fox Business host for questioning her about dog’s death

Governor Kristi Noem, a Republican from South Dakota, recently faced criticism after revealing in her upcoming memoir that she had to put down her 14-month-old dog Cricket over 20 years ago. The news sparked outrage from opponents, who shared pictures of themselves with their own beloved pets.

In an interview with Fox Business host Stuart Varney, Noem was questioned about her decision to euthanize her dog. When asked if the incident was discussed with former President Donald Trump, Noem refused to disclose any private conversations. The interview became tense as Varney continued to press for answers. Ultimately, Noem snapped at Varney and demanded that they focus on more meaningful topics.

Despite facing backlash from individuals on both sides of the political spectrum, Noem has stood by her decision to put down her dog. During a recent appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” she defended her actions by stating that the dog posed a threat to her children. Noem’s memoir, titled “No Going Back,” provides insight into the difficult decision she made years ago and has reignited a debate on animal welfare and pet ownership.
