Marmara 2: Descendants of Che Guevara and Nelson Mandela Journey to Gaza

The preparations for the upcoming “solidarity flotilla” from Turkey to the Gaza Strip are in full swing, with pro-Palestinian activists from various countries taking part in the initiative. Among the 75 participants are intellectuals, journalists, former politicians, doctors, former military officers, and lawyers from countries like Turkey, Cuba, South Africa, USA, Great Britain and more.

Organizers include notable figures such as 77-year-old Anne Wright, Aleida Guevara, daughter of Ernesto Che Guevara and Zvevelilili “Mandla” Mandela, grandson of Nelson Mandela. This flotilla is expected to carry 5500 tons of humanitarian aid which is equivalent to 100 trucks to help those in need in Gaza.

However, the launch of the flotilla has been delayed multiple times due to negotiations between Israel and Ankara through mediators aimed at preventing its arrival. The participants are determined to deliver aid despite potential obstacles and have been rehearsing their actions in case the flotilla is intercepted or seized by Israel in international waters.

The flotilla consists of three ships including a cargo ship carrying humanitarian aid and two passenger ships. Pro-Palestinian activists are committed to delivering aid to Gaza regardless of any potential challenges they may face.
