2024 First Playable Coaching – Boosting New Talent in Italian Video Game Development

The Italian video game industry association IIDEA has announced the launch of “First Playable Coaching 2024,” a program designed to help emerging Italian development studios. From April 22 to June 7, 2024, participants will have access to free individual coaching sessions. These sessions are intended to prepare them for First Playable, an important business event that will take place in Florence from July 3 to 5.

The program, organized by IIDEA and the Toscana Film Commission with support from the Fondazione Sistema Toscana, the ICE Agency, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, aims to create opportunities for developers to showcase their projects to international publishers and investors. During the coaching sessions, 15 industry expert mentors will offer their guidance and expertise to help participants prepare and present their pitches effectively. They will also advise developers on selecting the best publishers for their projects and provide strategic advice to increase their chances of success at First Playable.

Among the mentors involved in the coaching program are Valerio Di Donato, CEO of 34BigThings, Elisa Farinetti, Business Developer of Broken Arms Games, Yves Hohler, CEO & Co-Founder of Broken Arms Games, and many other industry experts from renowned gaming companies. These mentors will share their extensive experience in the video game sector with aspiring developers to help them succeed at First Playable.

Interested parties can book appointments with the mentors through First Playable’s official website. In addition to coaching sessions, tickets for attending First Playable are also available on this website. This program provides valuable guidance and support for Italian development studios looking to establish themselves in the gaming industry.
