G7 pledges support for Israel and Ukraine

The international community let out a collective sigh of relief as news of an attack attributed to Israel on Iranian territory reached Western chancelleries. The attack, a targeted raid far from Tehran and sensitive nuclear facilities, was carried out without causing any casualties, while also serving as a warning to the ayatollahs. The G7 Foreign Ministerial on Capri responded with moderate appreciation, emphasizing the need for de-escalation.

During the meeting, Antonio Tajani, the ‘master of the house’, commended Israel for acting with “common sense” and reiterated the appeal for de-escalation between the parties. The G7 meeting on the Campania island focused on issues such as air defense in Ukraine, with a commitment to help guarantee Kiev air defense systems. The ministers also discussed the importance of addressing the crisis in Gaza and the need for a two-state solution.

The Iranian government was warned against repeating attacks on Israel, with the G7 ministers ready to adopt further sanctions or measures in response to destabilizing actions by the Islamic Republic. The United States, although informed “at the last minute” by Israel, affirmed the importance of de-escalation and prevention of further conflict in the Middle East.
