Augustine started as a freshman for MSU this season during the Spartans’ first-ever Big Ten Championship and first national tournament appearance since 2012. Augustine won Most Outstanding Player in the Big Ten Tournament and was also voted the Most Valuable Player award by his team.

A South Lyon native, Augustine is a product of the USA Hockey Development Program, and Detroit selected him in the second round in 2023. The Red Wings are well represented by USA Hockey, as Augustine joins Detroit goalie Alex Lyon and defenseman Jeff Petry. Wings head coach Derek Lalonde and goaltending coach Alex Westlund are on the coaching staff. Prior to playing at MSU, Augustine spent two full seasons for Team USA, backstopping the national team to a gold medal in the 2024 IIHF World Junior Tournament.
