Women-owned sports bar, The Sports Bra, sets sights on franchising opportunities

In recent years, the success of women’s sports has been on the rise, and this trend has been reflected in the growing popularity of The Sports Bra, a sports bar dedicated to women’s sports located in Portland, Oregon. Founded by Jenny Nguyen, a passionate fan of women’s sports who took a risk and invested her life savings in the venture, The Sports Bra quickly gained traction and became a huge success.

The bar’s unique concept has attracted many customers who are looking for a welcoming and inclusive space to cheer for their favorite female athletes. And now, The Sports Bra is set to expand even further with a major investment from Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and part owner of Angel City Football Club in the NWSL, through his 776 Foundation. This investment will enable The Sports Bra to franchise and open new locations across the country.

Nguyen, the founder and CEO of The Sports Bra, expressed her gratitude for the support and explained that the returns from the investment would go towards future donations to women’s sports programs. She is determined to continue investing in her mission of promoting women’s sports and creating a community that empowers young girls and future generations of female athletes.

The decision to expand comes at a time when interest in women’s sports is at an all-time high. Record ratings for the NCAA women’s basketball national championship game are just one example of how far we have come in embracing gender equality in sport. And with more people watching and cheering for women’s teams than ever before, it looks like The Sports Bra will continue to thrive as it provides fans with a unique space to celebrate their love for female athletes.
