Raegan Beers, Ex-Oregon State standout, set to transfer to Oklahoma

In a statement on social media, former Oregon State standout Raegan Beers announced her decision to transfer to Oklahoma. Beers, a junior forward, excelled for the Beavers last season, averaging 17.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting an impressive 66.4 percent from the field.

During her time at Oregon State, Beers received numerous accolades, including Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Sixth Person of the Year honors. She was also named to the conference’s All-Freshman team and recognized as a third-team All-American by the Associated Press in her sophomore year. After Oregon State moved to the WCC in a two-year affiliate membership, Beers decided to transfer to Oklahoma.

Joining a talented roster led by head coach Jennie Baranczyk, who has guided the team to consecutive Big 12 titles and three straight NCAA tournament appearances, Beers is eagerly anticipating her next chapter with the Sooners. She emphasizes hard work and competition as qualities she sees reflected in Oklahoma’s program and believes will help her succeed in her new environment.

With two seasons of eligibility remaining, Beers looks forward to contributing to Oklahoma’s success in the highly competitive SEC alongside standout players like Skylar Vann, Payton Verhulst, and Sahara Williams. Her skills and experience make her well-positioned to have a significant impact for the Sooners as they navigate their new conference challenges.

Beers’ decision comes after much consideration and introspection about what’s best for her future as an athlete,” said Baranczyk.” We are thrilled that she chose Oklahoma as her next destination because we believe she will thrive here both academically and athletically.”
