Milinović faces accusations in the Constitutional Court: I refuse to allow you to dictate my voting choice

In the wake of the Constitutional Court’s decision that Zoran Milanović cannot serve as prime minister or head of government, reactions from politicians and constitutional experts have emerged. One such reaction came from Darko Milinović, a former HDZ minister of health and current president of the LiPo party, who took to Facebook to express his frustration with the decision.

In a fiery post, Milinović questioned the need for the decision to be repeated, stating that he believed it was clear that Milanović had violated the Constitution. He expressed disbelief that even if Milanović were to resign, he still would not be eligible to hold a mandate. Milinović went on to criticize the Constitutional Court for making decisions that overrule Parliament and plunge the country into uncertainty.

The post continued with Milinović expressing his discomfort with the current state of Croatia and calling on his political allies to take action in defense of their homeland. He urged others to stand up against what he saw as an attack on voters’ rights by the court. The post concluded with a plea for a return to decency and a rejection of any interference in the democratic process by external institutions.

Overall, Milinović’s post reflects a sense of frustration and disbelief at the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding Milanović. He raises concerns about its implications for democracy and political integrity in Croatia.
