Caddie for Tommy Fleetwood, absent before Masters, gives health update

In recent news, Tommy Fleetwood’s longtime caddie, Ian Finnis, underwent open-heart surgery and announced it on social media this week. Finnis had been recovering from his surgery and had not caddied for Fleetwood since the Valero Texas Open just before the Masters.

Fleetwood shared that Finnis had been unwell all year and is now at home focusing on treatment and recovery. Despite being apart physically, their bond extends beyond the golf course, making Finnis’ recovery a top priority for Fleetwood. The two have a longstanding friendship that dates back to their teenage years in Southport, England. They have been working together since 2016 and have celebrated six DP World Tour victories together, including the Dubai Invitational in January.

During Finnis’ absence, Fleetwood turned to Adrian Rietveld from TaylorMade and Gray Moore, who worked at Augusta National to caddie for him at various tournaments. While they may be apart physically right now, Fleetwood hopes that Finnis will return to caddying soon as they have a lot of work left to do together on the golf course.
