Jasmine Wong, a senior at Iolani School in Hawaii, has made history by winning the individual championship in the David S. Ishii/HHSAA girls golf championships. She shot an even par 72 to secure the win, beating out Jessica Lee from Punahou by a single stroke at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. Wong is the first player from her school to win this title.
Despite facing tough competition from five other players who shot par or better on the final day of the tournament, Wong held on to win even after making a bogey on the par-3 final hole. Nicole Ikeda of Punahou had the best score of the tournament with a 2-under 70, but no player finished in the red on Day 1. Punahou went on to win their 13th girls team title with a combined score of 13-over 445 over the two days. They were the only team to shoot below par on either day, finishing at 4-under on Day 2.
Wong signed with Gonzaga in November after winning several HSJGA titles and ILH championships in 2024 and 2023. She finished with a 74-72-146 overall score to claim her victory. Five other players shot par or better on Day Two of competition, including Jessica Lee from Punahou who came in second place with a score of 147. Sydney Fuke and Nicole Ikeda also finished in the top five for Punahou while Mililani placed second with a score of 465 and Moanalua came in third with a score of 478
