Is Ezekiel Elliott still able to perform at a high level?

After being a part of the Dallas Cowboys for eight years, Ezekiel Elliott is returning to the team after a brief stint with the Patriots. However, concerns about his decline in performance remain as he has been showing signs of wear and tear from multiple years of greatness. In 2019, Elliott held out during training camp, and in 2020 his average yards per carry dropped to just under 3.5. Despite these concerns, Elliott is still considered the potential RB1 for the team.

The Cowboys did not draft any new running backs this year, leaving Rico Dowdle as his main competition. While Elliott’s return may make for a good story, the question remains whether it will actually improve the team’s performance. With high expectations for the season, the Cowboys seem to be turning back time to 2022 and relying on Elliott to deliver a strong performance once again. Only time will tell if Elliott can rewind the clock even further and lead the team to success.
