Rivalry between Wachusett and St. Paul baseball teams reignites

On Monday, the Wachusett and St. Paul baseball teams met in a doubleheader at Tivnan Field in Worcester, Mass. The rivalry between these two teams added another exciting chapter to their ongoing battle.

The first game of the doubleheader went nine innings and ended in a 6-5 victory for Wachusett. The early lead was held by the Red Sox, who scored single runs in the second, third, and fourth innings to take a commanding 3-0 lead over their opponents. However, the Knights refused to give up and came back with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie things up.

Colon Kreuz’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh sent the game into extra innings, but it was ultimately Wachusett who emerged victorious with a decisive run scored in the top of the ninth when Caden Lane crossed home plate for them. Ethan DiVito hit a home run for Wachusett while Nate Roy had an impressive performance at bat, going 3-4 with three RBI. Colon Kreuz led St. Paul with a strong showing at the plate, hitting 3-3. Both starting pitchers put up solid performances on the mound during this exciting matchup.
