2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony honors recipients at College of Public Health

The College of Public Health recently recognized faculty and staff members for their dedication, innovation, and service to the institution’s mission and values at the 2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony. A total of 20 individuals were honored on April 19 for their outstanding achievements over the past year.

Dean Melissa Perry commenced the ceremony by applauding all faculty and staff for their exceptional work, highlighting how their contributions have enhanced the College of Public Health. She attributed their hard work to the continuous improvement and evolution of College programs, which is evident in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Individuals from all departments within the College of Public Health (GCH, HAP, NUTR, SW, Nursing), College-wide staff, and those who have received honors at the university level were recognized during the ceremony. Awards were distributed by Lisa Joyner, Executive Director of Finance and Administration, and Cathy Tompkins, Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Affairs, who personally congratulated each winner and recognized their achievements in their respective categories.

The winners were nominated by their colleagues through a process that involved submitting nominations to department chairs. These nominations were reviewed by department chairs who then selected official nominees. An ad hoc committee comprised of last year’s winners was responsible for determining the final award recipients.
