In May, Yelp released its annual Top 100 Local Businesses list to celebrate Small Business Month. Among the top-ranked businesses this year, three Georgia companies made it to the list.

FitWit in Decatur also made it to the list as a fitness center owned by Josh Guerrieri. Members appreciate the caring trainers and sense of community at FitWit, with many stating that it has positively impacted their lives. FitWit was ranked No. 3 in the fitness category.
Empanadas & More in Valdosta was also recognized as a top local business in Georgia and ranked No. 3 in the food category. People are willing to drive long distances just to enjoy their delicious empanadas at this family-run restaurant managed by Alberto Sanchez.
Yelp selects only one business per state to be included in each category of its annual Top 100 Local Businesses list based on customer reviews. To qualify as a local business according to Yelp’s standards, companies must be independently owned and operated with various factors determining their ranking on the list.
The Top 100 Local Businesses showcase a mix of longstanding businesses and newer establishments that have successfully carved out a niche or adapted to meet changing needs within their communities.
