Six Israelis from the Ethiopian community have completed their conversion to Judaism by undergoing circumcision (Brit Mila) at Haifa’s Rambam Hospital after months of waiting. The ceremony, organized in collaboration with the state conversion system under the Ministry of the Head of Government, the Ministry of Health, and the Budget Allocation Department under the Ministry of Finance, marked a significant milestone for these individuals who have chosen to convert to Judaism.

On the day of the ceremony, six members of the Ethiopian community were led into the operating room by Professor Aaron Hofman from the Department of Circulatory and Transplant Surgery, who is also a licensed mohel. Professor Hofman’s services as a circumcision specialist are officially recognized by organizations in Israel.

As reported by Srugim on March 27, six individuals who arrived in Israel several years ago made the decision to formally convert to Judaism. The participants in the ceremony ranged in age from 14 to 54 years old. It is expected that more similar operations will take place in the coming weeks for other graduates of the conversion system.

The resumption of circumcision operations, following a long hiatus partly due to the War of the Iron Swords, will enable dozens of men who have undergone conversion to complete the procedure officially and receive the necessary documentation. This important step marks
