Emplify Health merges with Bellin and Gundersen

Emplify Health, a newly merged health system made up of Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System, has announced their new name on Tuesday. The health system, which initially operated under its separate names, will now focus on amplifying empathy as a core value. Dr. Scott Rathgaber, CEO of the merged organization, stated that the name change process would not happen overnight and could take several years to complete.

Bellin, located in Green Bay, and Gundersen, based in La Crosse, collectively operate 11 hospitals across Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan. With around 15,000 employees combined. Rathgaber mentioned that the transition to the new name will not be immediate and that a detailed timeline would be announced in the coming months on when it will officially be implemented.

The Bellin Health Foundation and Gundersen Medical Foundation will retain their current names and operate separately from Emplify Health. According to Rathgaber, this decision was made to ensure that donors know their contributions will directly benefit the communities where they live and work. The transition to the new name will not impact patients who will still be able to see their regular providers at the same locations as before.
