Duke Johnson declares his retirement from professional football

Running back Duke Johnson announced his retirement in a social media post on Sunday, reflecting on his journey and the incredible memories he made during his time in the NFL. Despite starting out with humble beginnings, Johnson went on to become an all-time leading rusher at the University of Miami. He was selected by the Browns in the third round of the 2015 draft and spent two seasons in Cleveland before being traded to the Texans.

During his time in Houston, he continued to showcase his skills, running 299 times for 1,286 yards and five touchdowns. He also proved to be a valuable asset in the passing game, accumulating 235 catches for 2,170 yards and eight scores. In 2021, he returned to Miami to play for the Dolphins and even had a brief stint with the Bills in 2022. Throughout his career, Johnson’s stats speak for themselves – with 532 carries for 2,265 yards and 311 catches for 2,870 yards.
