The conference kicked off with a full day of breakout sessions, table conversations, networking opportunities, and community immersion experiences. Day 2 brought even more valuable insights as attendees participated in breakout sessions on topics such as improving maternal care for Black women, addressing food insecurity through community collaboration programs, and driving change through the Rise to Health Coalition.

But it wasn’t just about informative sessions – attendees also got to experience the impact of health disparities firsthand through community immersion experiences at places like the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and local nonprofits Uzazi Village and BlaqOut.

One of the standout moments was a performance by Pillsbury House Theatre from Minneapolis titled “Breaking Ice.” This powerful show tackled diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, sparking important conversations among attendees. Overall, this conference provided a platform for leaders to connect, share knowledge and experiences, and work together towards creating more equitable communities.
