Animal Science Discovery Day at KUVR

The annual Animal Science Discover Day is inviting all youth aged 8-18 years old to participate in a day full of activities focusing on livestock production and careers. The event will take place on May 29th from 9:00am to 3:30pm in Curtis, NE on the NCTA Campus.

The sessions are designed to be fun and engaging, providing valuable life skills in a relaxed atmosphere. Participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops taught by animal science teachers, covering topics such as meat science, calving simulation, horse IV, livestock skillathon, quiz bowl, zoonosis, animal welfare, and ag advocacy.

To encourage more in-depth learning experiences, participants will be divided into junior and senior tracts. This event is a great opportunity for youth to learn more about the livestock industry, prepare for competitions, and develop important life skills. Participants will also enhance their understanding of science, agriculture literacy, and technology, as well as explore careers related to Animal Science.

Registration and payment can be done online by May 22 for $15 per participant, with late registrations costing $20 per participant. The price includes lunch provided by the Frontier County 4-H Council and Ag Valley Co-op.
