Sheridan Media Reports: Birds are on the Move

Molly Kinsey, Science Kids Assistant Director and retired elementary school teacher, has extended an invitation to the public to disconnect from technology and explore the birdlife of Sheridan County. In collaboration with Sheridan Community Land Trust (SCLT) Director of Marketing and Development Chris Vrba, Science Kids will be hosting Unplug with Discovery Sessions: Birds on the Move, featuring Dr. Julie Rieder. The program aims to educate attendees about the various bird species in the local area and provide basic birdwatching skills.

As a naturalist with a passion for getting children outdoors to experience and learn about the natural world, Kinsey emphasizes Science Kids’ mission to spark curiosity and imagination in young minds. Spring is an ideal time to observe birds in their vibrant breeding plumage, making it a perfect opportunity to learn about different species like warblers, finches, and chickadees.

Both Kinsey and Vrba encourage participants to dress appropriately for the weather and emphasize that these sessions are not limited to children. Unplug with Discovery Sessions are also suitable for those young at heart who possess a keen interest in the natural world around them. So whether you’re a bird enthusiast or simply curious about the avian life in Sheridan County, this program offers a chance to learn and appreciate the diverse bird species in the region.

Science Kids collaborates with experts to spark curiosity and imagination in children by exploring everything from minerals to birds. The organization strives to get kids outside experiencing nature firsthand while learning about its wonders.

SCLT is thrilled to be partnering with Science Kids on this exciting program. With their expertise in marketing and development, SCLT aims to promote environmental education and conservation efforts through community events like Unplug with Discovery Sessions: Birds on the Move.

Overall, this program offers an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to connect with nature while learning more about our feathered friends. Whether you’re looking for a fun outdoor activity or want
