Receive complimentary health screenings during Detroit’s Public Health Week

In Detroit, residents will have the chance to receive free health screenings and engage in activities promoting a healthy lifestyle during Public Health Week from April 1 through April 6. Hosted by the Detroit Health Department, this event is open to all without requiring appointments, IDs, or health insurance.

The theme for this year’s event is “Centering and Celebrating Culture in Health.” The department is collaborating with Detroit police precincts, recreation centers, and other community partners to facilitate the screenings and activities. Some of the screenings offered include checks for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and kidney function, HIV and syphilis testing, fitness classes, CPR training, Narcan training and kit distribution, mental health makeovers, lead screenings
