Cooper Farms generously contributes $50,000 towards Mercer Health’s Childbirth Center Expansion

Cooper Farms has generously donated $50,000 towards the new Obstetrician Room that will be a part of Mercer Health’s Childbirth Center expansion and renovation. The Delivering on a Promise campaign, which supports the project, was started last summer when the Walter and Evelyn Braun Family made a generous $1 million donation. Additional donations totaling over $600,000, including the contribution from Cooper Farms, have been made to the MED Foundation in support of the project.

With an increasing number of births each year, additional space is required to accommodate the growing demand for childbirth services. Deb Hemmelgarn, the Director of the MED Foundation and Volunteer Services at Mercer Health, emphasizes the importance of a successful campaign to ensure adequate funds for the project. Hemmelgarn highlights the significance of the project by stating that childbirth centers are closing in Ohio and across the nation, but Mercer Health is enhancing its services due to its commitment to the community and the community’s commitment to them.

The expansion and renovation of Mercer Health’s Childbirth Center will provide a safer space for cesarean procedures, additional space for increasing births, an enhanced nursery for unique situations, and continued quality childbirth services for the local community.
