Another Bengals standout player has reportedly asked for a trade

The Cincinnati Bengals are facing the difficult decision of trading two of their star players. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Trey Hendrickson has requested a trade, seeking more long-term security. Despite being under contract for two more years with substantial salaries, the Bengals have not been willing to offer the level of protection that Hendrickson is looking for.

Meanwhile, star wide receiver Tee Higgins has also reportedly asked for a trade as he looks for a long-term deal. There have been no contract talks between Higgins and the Bengals in over a year, according to Schefter’s report.

Hendrickson had an outstanding season last year, accumulating 17.5 sacks, which was the second-most in the NFL, along with 16 tackles for loss and 25 quarterback hits. In his three seasons with the Bengals, he has amassed 39.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and 76 quarterback hits in 48 games. Hendrickson has also been selected to the Pro Bowl three times during his time with the team.

Despite these requests, it seems that the Bengals are not willing to move either player at this time. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, they have reportedly told both Hendrickson and Higgins that they will not be moved from their current positions on the team. However, it remains to be seen if this stance will hold firm or if there will be any changes in the future.
