This is how much Comcast is compensating customers affected by the loss of Bally Sports Detroit

Recently, Comcast made an announcement that they will be offering a monthly credit to Xfinity customers who were affected by the loss of Bally Sports Detroit. This channel became unavailable to Michiganders with Xfinity as of midnight Tuesday into Wednesday due to failed negotiations between Comcast and Diamond Sports Group.

Diamond Sports Group had been in bankruptcy proceedings, and Comcast had been working with them to provide extensions to the Bally Sports Regional Networks. However, despite Comcast’s efforts to continue carrying their networks, Diamond Sports Group declined multiple offers leading to the loss of programming rights for Comcast.

As a result, Comcast took the initiative to credit customers for the costs associated with the loss of Bally Sports Detroit. Most customers automatically received monthly credits ranging between $8 and $10. A message displayed on channel 201 informed customers about the proactive monthly credit they would be receiving in response to the situation.

Comcast expressed their willingness to continue working with Diamond Sports Group but acknowledged that they no longer had the rights to the programming. The decision was made after unsuccessful attempts to reach an agreement with Diamond Sports Group.
