Deadline for Chumash Foundation’s Technology in Schools Program Grant Application is April 30th

The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation is currently seeking grant applications for its Technology in Schools Program, which aims to enhance classroom technology for students in Santa Barbara County schools. The deadline for submitting applications for the 2024-2025 school year is April 30, 2024. Interested parties can apply through the foundation’s website at www.chumash.gov/foundation.

The program allows school administrators and faculty members to apply for funding towards specific technology projects, including purchasing hardware, upgrading infrastructure, incorporating high-tech resources, and enhancing curriculum offerings. Since its inception in 2015, the Technology in Schools Program has awarded more than $430,000 in grants to local schools.

Recipients of the latest grants for the 2023-2024 school year include Cabrillo High School, Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy, Carpinteria High School, Lompoc High School, Dunn School, and La Honda STEAM Academy. The foundation’s annual charity golf tournament in 2015 contributed to funding technology grants for four local schools and led to the creation of this program.

The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians has a long history of philanthropy, with donations exceeding $30 million to various community groups, organizations and schools both locally and nationally.
