Speeding Up Ahead

Noah Lyles is determined to make history at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris by winning four gold medals. The American sprinter, who made his international debut in the 4x400m at the Indoor World Championships in Glasgow, is returning to his roots and focusing on the 100m.

To achieve this ambitious goal, Lyles will have to excel in a challenging combination of events that includes the 4x100m and 4x400m relays as well as the 100m and 200m sprints. No other track star has ever accomplished this feat, not even the legendary Usain Bolt.

While there have been only two men who have achieved four athletics golds at a single Games, their tallies included a long jump title. However, Lyles’ goal is different; he wants to win four sprint events. In a March 2024 interview, Lyles explained that his decision to compete in multiple events was not for fame or attention but rather a serious pursuit of greatness. Despite facing tough competition in Glasgow, Lyles demonstrated his talent as the fastest third leg of all six teams and set a strong foundation for his Olympic aspirations.

Lyles knows it won’t be easy to achieve his quadruple gold medal ambitions, but he is determined to give it everything he’s got when he steps onto the track in Paris.
