Management and unions to hold meeting in attempt to prevent strike at Charleroi airport on Thursday

On Wednesday, unions and management at Charleroi Airport (BSCA) will hold further talks in an attempt to find a solution that will prevent the planned strike on Thursday. This was confirmed by Nathalie Pierard, the head of communications at BSCA, following a meeting between the parties on Tuesday evening. The staff at Charleroi Airport announced the strike on Tuesday afternoon, which is expected to cause significant disruption and affect more than 17,500 departing passengers and 94 flights.

Another meeting between management and the unions took place on Tuesday evening but did not yield any results. However, negotiations continued into Wednesday morning as both sides hoped to reach an agreement before it’s too late. “A long meeting took place tonight between the unions and management, and further discussions are already planned tomorrow morning to try to find a solution and avoid a strike,” said Nathalie Pierard in an email sent shortly after midnight.

Charleroi Airport has already started advising passengers to monitor the situation through their communication channels and is apologizing for any inconvenience caused by the potential strike. It is crucial for management and the unions to come to an agreement as soon as possible to ensure smooth operations at the airport.

The ongoing negotiations aim to address the concerns of airport staff and find a resolution that satisfies all parties involved. If an agreement is reached, it will prevent disruptive actions from taking place on Thursday. Passengers are advised to check with their airline for updates on their flights.

In conclusion, Charleroi Airport has been working hard to resolve the issue with its employees through continuous negotiations with union leaders. The airport hopes that an agreement can be reached before Thursday so that passengers can travel without interruptions or delays.
